CARE EXCELLENCE AND THE STRATEGIC ROLE OF THE HEALTHCARE TEAM IN CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Abstract
This review article explores the intersection between hospital accreditation, quality management, and patient safety, focusing on the role of the nursing team. Based on an analysis of selected scientific articles, the article seeks to understand the contributions, challenges, and strategies adopted by healthcare institutions and professionals to achieve and maintain standards of excellence in care. The benefits of accreditation for quality of care, patient safety, professional development, and process optimization will be addressed, as well as the obstacles faced, such as resistance to change and resource management. The importance of nurses as central agents in this process will be highlighted, highlighting their role in leadership, training, and continuous monitoring of quality initiatives.
