The professional skills of a hospital manager
a comparative study about the professional’s perceptions, the student’s perception and universities’ courses
Abstract
The objective of the research is to identify the necessary skills for a hospital manager. The exploratory research methodology was used, which allowed the triangulation of three data sources: the perception of the professionals who act as managers in health organizations, the perception of the students of the Superior Course of Technology (CST) Hospital Management of Faculdade Unimed and the egress profile of CST Hospital Management of Faculdade Unimed. The article concludes that a competent manager needs technical skills aligned with behavioral ones, which can be acquired through academic training and / or professional experience. It found that being competent is contingent, each context demands specific competence.
