IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPOSITE INDICATOR AS A TOOL FOR COST MANAGEMENT IN PHARMACEUTICAL CARE
Abstract
Pharmacoeconomics helps in the determination and monitoring of therapeutic conducts that lead to the promotion of the best results with the use of resources applied to health care. Actions aimed at this context can help maximize care and financial efficiency at the same time. Therefore, this research intends to identify, from a composite indicator, the financial impact associated with pharmaceutical interventions and the application of clinical protocols and monitoring indicators in a private hospital in the interior of the state of Pernambuco. For the development of the research, a descriptive, retrospective study was carried out, with a quantitative approach, with analysis of data from the hospital itself, from january 2020 to december 2021, focusing on the results related to the institution's pharmacoeconomics indicator, related to the rational use of anesthetics, antimicrobials, gastric protectors, as well as the use of drugs that do not belong to the standardization list of the hospital unit and the compliance of therapeutic procedures, in general. From the survey, it is expected to demonstrate that pharmaceutical interventions and the use of protocols and indicators can, together, help to promote safety and quality in health care, while contributing with a positive financial impact within health institutions.
